WEIGHT tells us how heavy something is. We can compare two objects using a balance scale — the heavier side goes DOWN, the lighter side goes UP!

Place a rock on one side and a leaf on the other. The rock side goes DOWN — it is heavier. The leaf side goes UP — it is lighter.
